All the activities of the Mongla Port are closed today on Friday due to the threat of the storm strikes. After the Meteorological Department issued the number 7 warning on Thursday morning, all the activities of the ships and jetties in the port were suspended. At the same time, the port's own alert-three issuance is in force.

Fearing the cyclone, all the officials and employees of the port were vacated on Friday. The Port Authority and the Upazila Administration are monitoring the overall situation separately by opening the control room.

Darl Huda, the master commander of the Mongla Port Authority, said that after dismantling the 4 to 7 number of weather officials from the weather office, the work of fluctuating the goods in different commercial ships, including clinkers, machinery, gas, slugs, were discontinued. At the same time, after the port's own alert-to-jury, the navigation of all types of vessels was also stopped in the port's internal river routes. Lighterage loaded from foreign commercial ships is also asked to safely anchor. In addition, the ships and navigators of the coastguard safely took refuge in the port channel.

In the meanwhile, the Upazila administration has prepared all the preparations to face the situation of the storm strikes and the situation in the upazila. Apart from preparing 78 shelters in the upazila, the instructions were also given to the affected people to take proper shelter in them. Apart from this, the microbes have warned the mosques of the upazila mosques.

Upazila Disaster Management and Project Implementation Officer Nahiduzzaman said that representatives of the Upazila Administration, Police, Fire Service, Public Representatives, Health Department, CPP and various non-government development organizations and volunteers are ready to face cyclone.

Meanwhile, Forest Department officials and employees have been canceled due to the cyclone, said Divisional Forest Officer of the East Sundarbans Mahmudul Hassan. He informed that forest guards have been directed to safely remove those visitors who are still staying in the forests and are still in the forest.
